Footpath Group Walk on 6-8-08

Pen Footpath Group walk Wed 6th August 08
Despite a poor weather forecast 9 walkers and 8 dogs set off from the Church at 11am. We walked the Parish Paths up to the gallops, then on along the Macmillan Way through Stourhead woods up to the Brewham road. Down hill all the way from there to the Pub, The Bull at Hardway. We arrived there just as those who were joining us for lunch arrived in the car park. There was a warm welcome at the Pub for people and dogs. Everyone enjoyed the good food and efficient and friendly service. All the dogs were grateful for a large bowl of fresh water. After a good break and a hilarious group photograph we set off again. Our circular route now took us back on the Leland trail along the old coach road, through delightful farmland scenery, into Staverton Estate woodlands and home along Pen Ridge. We arrived back in Pen at 4pm having had a most enjoyable day, and perfect weather for walking.
………………………………
Note- the Countryside Code was observed at all times and all dogs were well behaved and kept under close control.
